The Future Security 2012 brings together decision makers, public authorities, industry and scientists to discuss new ways of facing this challenge. The conference series, organized yearly by the Fraunhofer Group for Defense and Security since 2006, takes a holistic view on security.
It is the only comprehensive, scientific conference on civil security research in Europe. It provides insight into technological breakthroughs as well as societal aspects of security while bringing together the experience of high-profile researchers and professionals from both industry and public authorities.

• Security Essen - The World Forum for Security and Fire Prevention
25.-28. September 2012
Essen, Germany
Security Essen is celebrating this year its 20th edition. It embodies security and fire prevention technology at a top international level. This world fair with more than 1,000 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors is an innovation engine, a meeting place of experts and a hub for business deals all around the world.
Exhibitors will be able to give lectures at the security forum to inform visitors on the latest trends and security techniques. Live demos, round-table discussions and more than 100 presentations will take place at this Forum, which is open to all visitors. In 2010 more than 8000 listeners were on the ground.
In addition this year a new fair attraction for companies and visitors focusing on R&D is the Security Research area with 300 m² of exhibition, a lounge and its own forum for specialized events.

• 2nd International Symposium on Development of CBRN-Defence Capabilities
22.-24. October 2012
bcc Berliner Congress Center, Berlin, Germany
Up to 1.000 guests from at least 50 nations will attend this high-ranking international meeting which is under the auspices of the GE Federal Ministry of the Interior, supported by the GE Federal Ministry of Defence and the Association of the German Army. It is organized by the Centre of Studies and Conferences of the German Association for Defence Technology (SGW). In addition to 16 Panel Sessions an Indoor and Outdoor Exhibition will be organized.
